Oh Hell! ("the app," "we," "us") is a card game built by McSchneider Design Studios. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
No account required. Oh Hell! does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address. When you use Play Online, the app creates an anonymous identifier on your device so it can hold your seat at a table. That identifier is not linked to you personally and is not used outside the game.
Online multiplayer. When you host or join an online game, the following is stored temporarily on our Firebase servers and is visible to the other players at your table:
Your display name is chosen by you and can be anything. Please avoid using your full name or any other personal information, as it is shown to everyone at the table.
Anonymous gameplay analytics. We collect anonymous, non-identifiable data about how the app is used, including:
This data is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to identify you.
Advertising data. The app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device information and identifiers to serve relevant ads. Please see Google's privacy policy for details on how AdMob handles data.
Purchase information. If you purchase the "Remove Ads" option, the transaction is processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment information. We only receive confirmation that the purchase was completed.
What we do not collect. We do not collect your email address, location, contacts, camera or microphone data, or payment information. Apart from the display name you choose for online play, we do not collect personally identifiable information.
We do not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. Information you provide for online play — your display name and quick-chat emotes — is shown to the other players in your game room, and is not shared beyond it.
The app relies on the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.
The app displays interstitial ads between games via Google AdMob. You can remove all ads permanently by purchasing the "Remove Ads" option within the app's Settings menu. You may also opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device settings under Google › Ads › Opt out of Ads Personalization.
Consent for users in the EEA and UK. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region where consent is legally required, the app presents a consent request — managed through Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) — before any personalized ads are shown. You may accept or decline; if you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.
Anonymous analytics data is retained by Google Firebase according to their standard retention policies. Your "Remove Ads" purchase status is stored locally on your device and is not stored on our servers.
Online game data. Game rooms — including player display names, quick-chat emotes, and the state of the game — exist only for the duration of a game. A room is deleted when the host leaves the game, and abandoned rooms are removed periodically. We do not build profiles from online game data or retain it after a room is closed.
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
